The safety
in navigation depends mainly on two factors: The principal
one is the ship itself; its structure characteristics, its
age and its safety and rescue equipment..
Structure characteristics
Our sailing boat "Diosa Astarté" is
approved for the "A" navigation category, the maximun
one today. A ship built for this category is able to put up
with strenth 8-wind and waves higher than 4 meters..
Age
Not to worry about this; it´s absolutely new
(2004).
Security and rescue equipment
We don´t only comply with the current law (very
strict in our country) but go further in some systems.
The
other main security
factor is the human one. Most of the problems
happening in the sea are due to human mistakes, that´s
why our skippers are professional sailors and highly experienced,
usually First Class Merchants in charge of up to 5000 tonnes
ships (our sailing ship is an 11 tonnes ship)..
All of them have the title of yacht skippers as well.
